Grey Linen + Day 1 of 365

These beautiful grey linens are from namolio on etsy and the different shades of grey are just gorgeous. I think I am going to have a hard time cutting into these and actually using them! Especially since grey linen seems pretty difficult to find, which means I only have a bit of it. (Unless anyone can recommend some place to buy yardage of grey linen? Fashionfabricsclub.com has some grey linen, but I have never ordered from them… Has anyone else ordered from there?) If you love linen though, definitely check out namolio’s shop, because she has some absolutely beautiful shades of linen!

So Project 365 is off to a good start for me! :) Not only do I want to make sure to take a photo a day, but I would also like to use this project to learn a bit more about photography & get a bit better. So today I experimented a bit with photo backdrops & made the cats sit & pose for me (ha, that is funny - I should say that Pounce was sweet enough to sit and tolerate me taking his photo… Axel was too busy trying to play with the backdrop & his toys so I didn’t really get any shots of him:)

This photo makes me smile…

So I know the project is only supposed to be one photo a day (and I am only going to put the first one in my Project 365 set on flickr), but I really like this one of Pounce too (it will just go into a different set on flickr)…

I have a bunch of ideas right now for this project, so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I have a feeling the first week or so it won’t be difficult to find subjects for my photos but I am sure it is going to get a bit more difficult as the year goes on… (And I don’t plan on it turning into 365 photos of Pounce & Axel. I just thought it was totally appropriate that Pounce was my first photo of the project since I do take a lot of photos of him:)

Hi there. Your gray linen is quite lovely. I have ordered from fashion fabrics club a couple of times, and have never been disappointed. I’ve never bought any linen, just wool and cotton–all of which seemed fairly good for the price, and close to the color I expected based on the screen shot. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for recommending namolio - those fabric bundles look yummy! Lookout paypal ;) And, I agree with your assessment of project 365- I’d say the first week was a breeze, but it’s already getting really hard to find interesting and varied subjects! Maybe if I got out more, it wouldn’t be so hard (I’m a die hard homebody and the stuff around me is starting to look really boring!). Pounce makes a lovely subject, so I’d milk it ;)

I would have a hard time cutting into it as well.

That linen is gorgeous! Although, I’d probably never cut into it and it would sit in my stash forever. That’s usually where my favorite fabrics end up!

FFC: yes, I’ve ordered from them, the color was a little off from the screen shot, but nice fabrics. When you order from them, they start to send you these sample fabric packets of their new stuff, which are nice because you get to see the actual fabrics.
