Blue & Black Blanket
Wow! I can hardly believe that I have over 75 comments on my 2nd blogiversary post! Thanks for delurking everyone:) If you have not commented yet, you have till Friday evening so hop on over to that post & leave a comment (only comment on that post will be entered into the drawing).
Another reason to leave a comment on that post… I am going to draw 2 winners! :) On Tuesday I whipped up this little lap blanket & thought I would include it in the drawing so that I could pick 2 winners, since I knew I wouldn’t be able to pick only 1 when so many of you came out to say hi:)
It is a really simply blanket & it only took about 1 hour to cut & sew it all together (and that is an hour with 2 cats trying to get my attention). It is just four strips of alternating fabric on the front with a beautiful flannel that I found the other week on the back. I couldn’t resist buying the flannel since it was on sale & I think I have a weakness for flannel now. Flannel & linen, okay who am I kidding… any fabric really! :) No binding - just topstitching, since I am not brave & figured I shouldn’t practice on a blanket that I am going to give away:)
I mentioned this a few blog posts ago, but I had looked at my local library for photography books & found that they just didn’t have much… So with a couple of Barnes & Noble gift cards in hand, Ben & I went to the bookstore the other day & I was able to pick up a couple of photography books…
See a trend there:) (If only it was actually warm enough to take portraits!) There were a few more general photography books that looked interesting, but I figured I would order those off amazon (hopefully used that way they will be a bit less expensive…).
Speaking of photography I have to share this photo…

I could hardly believe it when I saw them cuddling like this on top of the couch the other day. Both of them love to lay up there, so sometimes they will fight over who gets that spot but you hardly ever see them sharing like that:) So cute!

That photo belongs on a Hallmark card! I’d give it to my husband. Super cute!
I have really been enjoying your photography. AND I love that blanket!
That photo is so cute!
Oh! So much to appreciate in this post! That blanket! Those books (the one on top of the pile is on my list, too)! and your kitties! What a lovely picture :)
oh i love that blue and black blanket! wow! i must make one now!
The blanket looks great! That’s going to be one lucky winner! And the kitties, how sweet is that??
The picture of your cats is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Learning to photograph things better is definitely on my things to do list this year :)
That blanket looks very cozy… It has been 40 below zero here (with windchill :)
I love the kitty picture!
Great job on the blanket. The kitty pic is sooo cute that’s a pic that needs to be framed.
oh, i love it when kitties cuddle!
and i LOVE that blanket — can you tell me the names of the fabric? please?
(and i’m un-healthily jealous of your 75 comments. wowzas!)
That blanket is amazing. I looooove the backing fabric! And your cats??? So, so adorable. (and perfect little models for your photography!)
adorable!
I really don’t know what’s cuter (or softer), your lovely blanket or those adorable kitties… More of the same, please!
glad you found a couple of books! How did you get your cats to pose like that?! All of your photos are so wonderful!
the blanket looks great! and your kitties snuggling together is adroable.
I like the blanket!!
What sweet kitty love!
They are so cute cuddling! We’ve caught our two cuddling maybe twice in the past year so I know how nice it is to capture the moment.
That blanket is gorgeous. Our library has the most outdated photography books. The majority of them were from the 70’s and 80’s and had zero information digital cameras. I’m glad to see you have a better selection. It should be interesting to see what you do with them.
:0)
lovely blanket. there’s something about those colors together and winter. so snuggly!
that blanket looks so cosy. and the two cats!! wow- thank you for sharing such a gorgeous picture.
A cosy blanket and a cat sweet sweet picture!
[…] pile anyways:) The fabrics on that scarf probably look familiar since I also used a few of them for this blanket. I added 2 tones of blue linen to the scarf though to make it slightly different from the blanket […]
