random tidbits

I am headache free for the first time in a couple of days! Finally:) It was starting to get a little old honestly, luckily I didn’t have a migraine just a constant dull headache. Today I actually wore my glasses for awhile, in the hope that the headaches were being caused by my eyesight. Maybe it was? Who knows!

I have continued walking every day and am loving it. It is even warming up a little around here (today it was a high of 63 degrees F) and as I walked I could hear birds and smell spring. The sky looks gorgeous when it is nice out on days like today, however I didn’t take any pictures on my walk the last couple days since the sky is about the only pretty thing. Everything is pretty muddy and dirty, it takes some talent to walk around some of the mud puddles:) I have been keeping track of my walks still with the g-maps pedometer and it really helps to know how far each route is and if I am walking the same amount or not.

My car went into the shop the other day & I got that back today. That may not seem that exciting, but I think it is…

Axel went to the vet today to get his yearly shots. If you have ever met Axel, you realize that this was probably an interesting experience. If you have not met Axel, let’s just say that he is a slight scaredy cat and isn’t totally sure about humans (except for his family). He tolerated going to the vet today, but was pretty terrified when it came to getting his shots. Poor little guy!

Monday is Ben’s and my wedding anniversary! Pretty crazy that it has been two years already and also pretty cool. I love you hon:) I looked up traditional wedding gifts the other day and the 2nd year anniversary present is traditionally cotton. Normally I am not into all things traditional, but cotton totally means I can make him a gift. So I think I am going to try to make him something, but it has to be a secret for a little bit longer since he does read my blog:)

Okay, totally jumped around a ton in this entry I know… now I need to get to sleep:) (And read a little for the online book club that I joined! I love the fact that I can be in a book club with a ton of other women from around the world that I have never met, it makes the world seem a little smaller and maybe a tad bit more friendly.)

no way am I going to think of a good title after I already lost this entry once!

Okay… I totally just lost everything I wrote! So here goes again I guess… argh, silly blogger!

G-maps pedometer - I recently discovered this site and am loving being able to track how far I walk. You can map out a walking or bike ride route and figure out the miles you went. It is pretty cool, you just start recording and click on your starting point and end point (if you take turns or curves, you need to make points for those or otherwise it will just go in a straight line). Today I took a 1.3 mile walk after lunch.

I wore these shoes on my walk….

These shoes have seen a lot of miles in the short time that I have owned them. I bought them in December for my London trip, wore them the whole time I was there and have been wearing them a lot ever since.

Today I took a slightly different walking route than I have been. Instead of the park I decided to walk around a neighborhood. I passed by this house on my walk and decided to take a couple of pictures…

The picture is gloomy looking in some ways I know, but it kind of expresses the house in that way too. This house has always made me wonder since we moved to this city. It just sits empty, abandoned, and slowly decaying. I wonder why the owners just let it sit there and don’t care about it. The house is so big and has so much potential. Maybe they should just give it to me:)

I got the new issue of Blueprint last night. Ben went with me to Barnes & Noble to find it, since the grocery stores don’t seem to have it. Like I didn’t already want rain boots enough, there are a couple pages of cute rain gear that I loved! I just might have to get a subscription to this magazine, it only has 6 issues a year but each issue is packed with goodies.

So definitely not identical to the first entry I wrote, but it will do:)

Sunlight and Shadow

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

Click on pictures for a larger view.

Pictures are of Pounce & Axel sitting together in the sunlight; Tree in the park that never lost its leaves in the fall; Shadows on the walking path; The starting point; Mile marker. (I definitely got some weird looks at the park while taking the last two pictures:)

I have walked every day since last Wednesday, except for Saturday when I had ballet for exercise instead. I love getting out and enjoying the fresh air, it is definitely something I did not have time for when I was working or going to school. I am planning on continuing my daily walks this week.

Been working on getting a little more organized and my craft area set up. Part of the process was listing some of my textbooks on amazon, which I have done and already sold 3 books! I have also been going through my old magazines and cutting out inspiration, then tossing the remains of the magazine in order to free up some much needed bookshelf space. Will definitely be starting some sewing projects soon!

Thursday

I had this great idea to start walking everyday starting yesterday. Apparently the weather has other plans though. There is currently a tornado watch, flood watch, and high wind warning in effect right now. As much as getting outside and walking around the park sounds nice, staying inside away from those weather warnings/watches sounds even better. Have I ever mentioned that tornadoes scare me to death?! As long as the watch doesn’t turn into a warning I am okay…. :)

No pictures today, because there is even less sun outside than yesterday (and we have no south facing windows to give us nice sunlight).

Edit: I did get to take a walk after all. The weather warnings ended and the sky cleared up a little. So when Ben got home from work we took a walk at the park. Although the park path was slightly flooded from the rain and snow melting:)
