cats

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

When thinking about what to write for a blog entry, I thought about writing what I did today but figured most people wouldn’t want to know what it is like to draw blood on a dog or work on dissected cats. (the life of a vet tech student… at least I am not studying to become a nurse, then I would have to practice on humans and well…)

Ben suggested I write about cats, but my brain was just not up to thinking so I thought I could provide everyone with some cat humor. If you are not a cat or animal person you probably won’t be interested, for everyone else enjoy!

“Never try to out-stubborn a cat.” - Lazarus Long

“There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast.” - Anonymous

“Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.” - Anonymous

“Cats are smarter than dogs. You can’t get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.” - Jeff Valdez

“In a cat’s eye, all things belong to cats.” - English proverb

“As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.” - Ellen Perry Berkeley

“Dogs come when they’re called; cats take a message and get back to you later.” - Mary Bly

(If you want to read more funny quotes like this, just do a google search for cat jokes. The first several links all have these quotes listed as “thoughts on cats”.)

another day, another post

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

Well I got at least one thing on my list accomplished this weekend. I did a little sewing & finished my friend’s purse for her. This was after I had to take my sewing machine apart due to it going crazy while I was trying to sew. Basically the fabric was being sewn into the machine…. well after I took it apart and cleaned it off a little it worked again (I think my machine is just weird). So I think this week I am going to do a little bit of research on slightly nicer sewing machines. I just wish I had an idea which of the brands would be the best to go with…

The purse is purple and teal colored and has a shorter strap for wearing over her shoulder. (For some reason the picture makes the outside fabric look a little more blue than it is, it definitely is purple though.) Hopefully she will like it:)

This afternoon Ben & I were sitting talking when Axel decided to show us how he gets a break from hanging out with Pounce….

See where he is sitting? (He is the one on top of the speaker, Pounce is on the couch - Pounce definitely can not jump that high!) We were just talking when all of a sudden Axel effortlessly jumps on top of the cabinet from the ground. The only problem with this is that now I can’t have flowers or anything since he can get to every spot in the house just fine (and he loves plants!). Very cute though:)

Nothing much to say…

Blogging every day can be harder than it seems…

It is really starting to get cold out…

What would I do without layers & layers of clothing…

Freeze to death probably…

Pounce still thinks squirrels are birds…

do i really have to think of another new blog post title every day this month?

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

I love it when you order something you think you will like, then the package (or in my case this week, packages) arrives & the item is even better than you thought it would be.

New L.A.M.B. sweatpants from shopbop.com

Amazingly warm & comfortable. I could wear these 24/7, well okay maybe not since I would also want to wear my other L.A.M.B. sweatpants & sweatshirt occasionally.

New keychain & tissue pouch from Creative little daisy’s etsy shop. (Click on this link to see her blog.)

Every girl should have a set like this. Your purse just seems so much prettier, oh and finding my keys is a tad bit easier now:)

New trim, hedgehog buttons, plus extra little goodies from superbuzzy.com

Okay I have no idea what to do with the trim, but I love the patterns and the hedgehog buttons well who could really pass those by. Plus the ladies who run this site always send a few little extra goodies in the package (I despise real life bees, but that bee patch is awfully cute!). Yeah, so any ideas on what to use that trim for?

My plans for this weekend….

  • Finish my friend, Jes’ purse that I am working on
  • Clean out my clothes closet
  • Homework, homework, homework

And of course a blog post each day! (See if I keep saying that maybe, just maybe, I will actually keep up with it, right:)

so far so good

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

At least I have managed to stay on track with “National Blog Posting Month” so far. Although I suppose two days of posting in a row don’t really count. It will be interesting to see if I can keep this up though for the whole month of November.

So I was going to post some pictures of some of the things I have purchased lately and received in the mail. However, after dealing with the flash on my camera and nothing looking quite right I decided that maybe I should take some pics in the day light tomorrow and then post. That means that there is something for you to come back and see tomorrow at least right!

Instead of pictures I am going to leave you with this link of Skidboot the dog that you absolutely have to go to and watch! At our vet tech meeting today one of the girls showed this right before for everyone to see, and I just thought I would share it since I thought it was so cool. So definitely check it out, it makes you appreciate the meaning that animals bring to people’s lives.

…. I feel like if I am going to truly follow this post a day, it really should be more meaningful than a link to go watch a clip, but at the same time I have had a long day of school and really don’t think I can come up with much more than that. (wow, check out that run-on sentence… see I told you it was a long day:) So tomorrows entry I promise will have more substance!

a blog post a day

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

So this once a week (or less) posting just doesn’t seem right to me. When I started my blog I had high hopes for blogging at least every couple of days or so. Lately I have been so busy though that my blog has (sadly) gone on the back burner. So I would like to change that up a little and since November is “National Blog Posting Month” I have decided to unofficially participate. This means that I am going to try my very hardest to post once a day (which is way more than I have been posting…), but don’t hold me to that since I don’t think I can handle the pressure:)

At least I am starting the month out on the right foot with an entry today:) I can hardly believe that it is November already! Thanksgiving and Christmas are both fast approaching and I feel like summer just barely ended. This means though that my first semester as a vet tech student is quickly coming to an end. I can hardly believe everything I have learned so far this semester, it seems unreal in some ways.

Wait a second… is thanksgiving really only in three weeks???? Oh my, I am very glad that the responsibility of thanksgiving dinner does not rest on me. (I think the rest of my family probably is fairly relieved about that too, seeing as it would be a vegetarian thanksgiving if it was up to me to cook - what is that word though, cook? never heard of it:)

So now are you going to come back tomorrow to read more? After all I can’t imagine that I would fail at the blog posting a day as early as tomorrow;)
