summertime

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

I think I am probably about as unorganized as it gets! This may come to a shock for some (mostly my sister who had to share a room with me a few years in high school), but right now I cannot for the life of me remember what is in the pile of papers sitting next to me or what I am supposed to get done today (I think my to-do list is buried in there somewhere). Oh, and I can’t even look at the sidebar on my own blog for the fear that I might be reminded how soon graduation is coming up! Oh well! At least my mom might pick up some new H&M tank tops for me, I only have a couple months before I start on the road to becoming a vet tech, and Sari & I might go to Europe in 2007. Life is busy, but definitely good. Summer is almost here which means the daylight lasts longer & Ben and I can do fun outdoor stuff again (like take walks, bike ride, enjoy picnics in the park…).

my crazy week

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

This week has been really busy for me… The scary part is that today I realized it is only going to get even more busy! Oh well, at least it gives me plenty to do.

So my week in short summary. I worked three days this week and on my days off I found plenty of stuff to do! Wednesday I hung out at home in the morning and then in the afternoon/evening I got my hair dyed. Today I read to a first grade class this morning (”The House on East 88th Street” - if you haven’t read it you should!), came home, and then headed out to my new school where I had an orientation session for my vet tech program. I learned lots of important stuff about the fall and got my class schedule. Wow, did I mention life is going to get even more busy?

So that was my week! Now you are probably thinking, hey didn’t she mention she got her hair dyed… before Wednesday my hair was black (if you want a before picture go to my picture album and look at our wedding pics or pics of Ben & I) and now it looks like this.

This was after 5 hours at the hair salon, two times trying to strip the black out of my hair and then finally leaving it a light brown w/blonde highlights through it. The good thing is that I finally found someone who didn’t try to chew me out about wanting to go lighter with my hair color. In fact as she was working on my hair I was telling her that I have pretty much dyed my hair every color besides pink and you know what her response was. “Oh, I have done pink before in my hair. I think it was a couple years ago now, but I can’t remember exactly when since I change my hair color so often too.” Definitely the right hair stylist for me!

Also, two new pics of Pounce & Axel. Who would have thought that two cats could fit side by side on the back of the couch? Well it is a little squished, but apparently that didn’t stop Pounce & Axel. Check out Pounce grooming Axel in the second picture :)

They still fight sometimes (kind of like brothers), but they are definitely best buddies too!

if you were a cat…

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

So if you were a cat in a household where your humans spoiled you, where do you think you would sleep at night? Maybe on their big queen size bed that all winter had a nice warm heating blanket on it or in another really soft and warm place right…

Well if that is your answer than you must not be Axel. He sleeps in the bathtub of all places. No, you did not just read that wrong. I really did say the bathtub. When it is time for bed, he goes into the bathroom and curls up in the bathtub while Pounce on the other hand lays across the top of the couch to sleep. Occasionally they will come into bed to make sure that I know they still exist and would like someone to wake up and be nocturnal with them, but most the time they sleep in their little places.

Oh, today was also a big event in Pounce & Axel’s world. They graduated to adult cat food! Well, at least they are working on graduating to adult cat food (right now we are mixing it with kitten food, since it is better for their digestive systems to slowly change their food).

Also, Pounce weighs 9.19 pounds. Axel’s weight will remain a mystery as he did not want to come out of his carrier to be weighed. At least getting him into the carrier was incredibly simple. I set the carrier down on the living room floor and both of them (practically at the same time) ran to it and walked right in. How many cats do you know that actually like car rides? Well, two at least… Pounce & Axel:)

photo album is up

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

I have another new feature up and running on my website, my photo album is now complete. For those of you who enjoy the pics I occasionally post, you can check out my photo album and all the great pics of Pounce & Axel there (plus a variety of other assorted pictures). There is even a download option so that if you find a great pic you want for your computer wallpaper or something you can save it. (Although I am finding this option doesn’t seem to work in firefox, sorry everyone who uses firefox instead!) I just ask that if you want to republish it on your blog or something, you let me know first. Thanks!

So go to my home page and click on the picture album link and of course let me know what you think of it!

new and improved!

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

So charamichele.com now has more on it than just my blog. If you check out my homepage (there is also a link in the right column on this page) you will see that I added a couple things and that I am working on getting more on here.

Oh and yes I actually designed the site myself. It took me awhile and Ben showed me how to google for html and css tutorials, but I think it was totally worth it. Now I can actually make changes without needing someone else to help me (well maybe at least most of the time).

What do the letters html and css stand for anyways? That is the question….

Patch?

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

I just thought this picture was hilarious! Thanks to my Dad for emailing it to me. The cat in the picture is Patch, who is kind enough to allow my parents to live in her house. Apparently her age is catching up to her and she now needs reading glasses. Hmm, now maybe since she has taken care of that someone might be nice enough to mention to her that light adult cat food does not mean you are supposed to eat twice as much.

a good book

Published by charamichele under Uncategorized

I recently read the book “Marley & Me” by John Grogan. It was a pretty good book (so good that I had to finish it in one sitting….) The downside of reading a book really quickly is that it is over that much quicker so you can’t enjoy it later. I just couldn’t set this book down though. It is about the author and his dog that he and his wife had after they were just married. So if you want to read a cute, funny, adorable story about a dog I would definitely recommend reading this book.
Just a warning though (Dad or anyone else)- you might cry after reading it if you have ever experienced losing a favorite pet. It definitely made me miss Kittie (the best dog that ever lived if I might add:), but it also made me think about all the good times with her.
So go to your local library and pick up a copy (well that is if they have one, the waiting list for this book at my library currently has 84 people on it…)

the promised pictures

Our new couch & Axel relaxing against the pillows my Mom & I made.

Pounce & Axel cuddling and sleeping on the new couch. Can you tell who is who?:)

Pounce & Axel enjoying the nice spring air and sunshine from outside. This was the first time since winter that we opened the windows and they loved it.

Oh of course, if you are going to take our picture we would love to look like we actually cooperate for such things:)

Hey did you see that bird too? Or maybe it was a squirrel… Chara says that we don’t know the difference and that we will come running if she says “Pounce and Axel birdy” even if it is a squirrel.
