Sometimes I am lacking in the area of motivation… today is one of those days.
I had some errands to run this morning, which meant that I had to get out of bed earlier than normal on my day off. This is actually a good thing, because it means that I am up and ready for my day earlier than I usually would be on a day off of work. However, by the time I got home it was close to lunchtime, so I was like well I will just surf the web and eat lunch first. Then of course after lunch I have found so many interesting things to look at and even research online. So I spend more time doing this and thinking I will get up and get some of that other stuff done in a little bit. Then of course, Pounce curls up on my lap and falls asleep. Well who can get up when Pounce is sleeping on their lap! That would be a crime (at least that is what Pounce thinks). So of course I sit a little longer doing nothing… Before I know it 4pm rolls around and Ben will be coming home in a little bit. So now I can’t really start anything because I won’t be able to finish it before he comes home & I want to spend time with him instead of getting stuff done. This is the life of a procrastinator…
My motivation tends to need encouragement sometimes. If only I would remember how much I like to do lists and checklists. When I can cross it off, it makes me feel good and like I am actually doing something. So for my next day off, you can bet I am going to make a to do list!

Tonight Ben took me on a date to see the play “The Mousetrap.” For those who don’t know, it is a play that was written by Agatha Christie who also happens to be one of my favorite authors. So it was really fun to actually get to see it as a play, since I had already read it in book format. If you ever get the chance to see this play, whether it be put on by a local theater company/college or other group, I would recommend going and seeing it. Or I suppose you could just pick up a copy of the book at your local library:) I won’t spoil the ending either for anyone who hasn’t read or seen “The Mousetrap.”
Speaking of books, we had ordered a couple of books from Amazon and the order came today. Ben got some computer books that he will enjoy and I could never understand in a million years. I got some sewing books, both are kind of reference types of books that will hopefully help me learn more about sewing and answer specific questions I end up having.
Pounce is fascinated with straws lately. We let him chew on one (always while we are watching, I don’t trust him not to poke an eye out or something:) because we had read that some kittens enjoy chewing on them when teething. Yes, kittens do teeth just like humans. Well, he loves chewing on straws now and whenever you are drinking with one he insists on being allowed to chew on it. Which doesn’t always work so well, but at least it is cute… Right now he is playing with Ben and living up to his name by pouncing on the straw:)
I just realized today how busy my life is lately. I have ballet twice a week, I am just learning to sew, I have a new job, I am still in school, and I have Ben & Pounce:) I love my life and everything that is going on. Although I have to say that sometimes a few extra hours in each day would be nice!

So this evening Ben & I went shopping for a little while. It was a successful trip even, I bought two pairs of shoes & a new purse. The shoes are pretty cute, I don’t think I can describe them that well except to say that one pair is a light green summer looking color and the other pair is a red twill color. My new purse is pretty cute, it is black & white with little pink/green designs on one end of it. I know I am not describing any of this so that anyone can picture it, but I doubt everyone wants to see pictures of my new shoes & purse:)
We also went to the fabric shop tonight so that I could look for some patterns & buttons (the buttons are for the project in my sewing class). I found out that tomorrow the store is having a huge sale and all the Vogue patterns are going to be 75% off. So I am going to have to go shopping again tomorrow… It is pretty cool though, since Vogue patterns are usually pretty expensive and there are a couple I wouldn’t mind getting. As you can tell I am really enjoying sewing and the concept of getting to make my own clothes.
Today I got several assignments completed and handed in. I cannot wait for graduation!!!! Only a couple more months, I can hardly believe it. Then, who knows?:) Just have to wait and see I guess!
