sewing, cooking, sleeping, and furniture shopping
I signed up for a sewing class today! So finally I can get a sewing machine and learn how to make some of the things that are just ideas in my head right now. Maybe I will even learn how to make the sewing machine go as fast as my mom makes it. (I am still loving my wonderful curtains, without you it would have taken me, well…. awhile that’s for sure:) Now I just need to learn how to cook (that may take awhile though). Although I did make quiche for dinner the other night and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make. I expected to somehow mess it up and in fact I didn’t and it turned out pretty tasty!
Why is it that during the day there is always more than enough stuff to do and that when you can’t fall asleep at night you run out of things to do? Sure there is plenty that I could do, but nothing that sounds fun enough to actually do. Unfortunately, my sleeping schedule is a little bit messed up right now. That is the problem with being able to set your own schoolwork schedule and not having anywhere to be early in the morning. (Don’t I have it so hard;) Seriously though, I know the people who have to be up early for work are reading this and thinking I am crazy, but I wish that I could get up early in the morning. There is just something about getting up early and having the whole day ahead of you to accomplish stuff. So if you have any tips on getting up early, let me know.
Oh yeah, we didn’t find any furniture this evening, so our living room still is empty. None of the sofas that we sat on felt all that comfortable. For some reason furniture makers think that it is a great idea right now to make the part you sit on extra long (not so you can fit more people, but so you have more area in front of you). This causes me to have to stick my legs straight out if I sit all the way back on the sofa, since my knees are still on the seating part of the couch, or to slouch if I want to rest my feet on the floor. Now most the time you don’t find that the world caters to tall people (finding jeans long enough can be very hard), so I find this whole extra long sofa thing kind of odd. I can’t imagine being shorter and trying to sit on one of these sofas. So the search for a couch continues, hopefully we will find something this weekend as it would be nice to be able to sit down in the living room once in awhile.

Hey Chara, Luv your blog! The whole furniture thing can be overwhelming but enjoy the “process” cuz when you look back you remember that as being half the fun. And you will remember your “early newlywed” style of furniture fondly. Guess what, I’m on crutches for atleast 4 more weeks–i’m exhausted just thinking of doing these steps one more time. I’m also excited to see your first sewing project and all the wonderful creations that will come from inside your gorgeous head. Luv Ya! M
