I got a job! I wasn’t really looking that seriously for a job, since I can always think of plenty of other things to do. However, I figured if the perfect job (or close to it) came along I would always apply. Applying for a job never hurt anyone and you never have to take it if offered, but I definitely wanted this job. So what am I going to be doing and where am I going to be working? I will be working as a vet assistant at the humane society! So exciting, since I love working with animals and have been thinking for quite some time that the humane society would be a cool place to work.
Hmm… and why am I studying business for a degree;) Okay, I know it is a good degree! Don’t worry I am not going to quit now when I only have a couple months to graduation. Plus life is so unpredicatable, and the stuff that we think is useless may have a purpose. I may someday want to actually use my business degree for something that I can’t think of right now. Besides it will be pretty rewarding in May to walk the line at graduation and get my diploma that I have worked hard for.
So today I get to go buy some scrubs for my new job. (Which may not seem exciting to most people, but then you have never seen Dickies scrubs.) After that I really need to get working on some homework… Oh and I really should catch up on emails. If you have emailed me and I haven’t sent you an email back, sorry life has been busy but I am going to get caught up. Oh yeah, favorite sister of mine, you should give me a call in between your busy schedule.

Then…

And now…

It is hard to believe how much he has grown. Even so, he is still a cute “little” kitten.

I had my Saturday ballet class this morning, which was really fun. The Saturday class is definitely better than the Wednesday class. I thought maybe it was because of the teachers (which is definitely a big part of it), but Ben suggested that maybe having it be a much smaller class size than the Wednesday class helps too. I would have to say that I agree with that. It is easier to learn and you are less likely to run into other people:)
After ballet, I came home and ate lunch and then we went furniture shopping. Like almost all day long! Not too much fun…. although the good news is that we have probably narrowed it down to three different couches. Now the really hard part is we actually have to make a decision between the three!
I got my print-based course, Business Policy & Strategy, in the mail today. So now I just have to order the textbook for it and then I will be ready to start it. Not really looking that forward to this class, it sounds hard, but I am looking forward to May and graduation!!!
The library here has a pretty cool contest that they run 3 times a year. Every time you read five books, you get to write them on a card and enter a drawing that is held at the end of the contest. So if you read 25 books, you can enter the drawing 5 times (and there is more than one prize, so several people win). Now I read a decent amount, so I figure I have a fair chance in this type of contest. The contest started Jan. 15th (and I didn’t notice that it had started back up, until probably the 20th, which means that I didn’t include the books I read those couple days). So can you guess how many books I have read? Let’s just say, I already have one card completely filled out and am working on the second one. This means I have read close to one book per day! Oops, I probably should be working on my homework instead. I am going to keep track of how many cards I fill up, it should be fun to see at the end how many books I read.
I hope your leg gets better soon Mom!

I signed up for a sewing class today! So finally I can get a sewing machine and learn how to make some of the things that are just ideas in my head right now. Maybe I will even learn how to make the sewing machine go as fast as my mom makes it. (I am still loving my wonderful curtains, without you it would have taken me, well…. awhile that’s for sure:) Now I just need to learn how to cook (that may take awhile though). Although I did make quiche for dinner the other night and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make. I expected to somehow mess it up and in fact I didn’t and it turned out pretty tasty!
Why is it that during the day there is always more than enough stuff to do and that when you can’t fall asleep at night you run out of things to do? Sure there is plenty that I could do, but nothing that sounds fun enough to actually do. Unfortunately, my sleeping schedule is a little bit messed up right now. That is the problem with being able to set your own schoolwork schedule and not having anywhere to be early in the morning. (Don’t I have it so hard;) Seriously though, I know the people who have to be up early for work are reading this and thinking I am crazy, but I wish that I could get up early in the morning. There is just something about getting up early and having the whole day ahead of you to accomplish stuff. So if you have any tips on getting up early, let me know.
Oh yeah, we didn’t find any furniture this evening, so our living room still is empty. None of the sofas that we sat on felt all that comfortable. For some reason furniture makers think that it is a great idea right now to make the part you sit on extra long (not so you can fit more people, but so you have more area in front of you). This causes me to have to stick my legs straight out if I sit all the way back on the sofa, since my knees are still on the seating part of the couch, or to slouch if I want to rest my feet on the floor. Now most the time you don’t find that the world caters to tall people (finding jeans long enough can be very hard), so I find this whole extra long sofa thing kind of odd. I can’t imagine being shorter and trying to sit on one of these sofas. So the search for a couch continues, hopefully we will find something this weekend as it would be nice to be able to sit down in the living room once in awhile.

Ben and I are hopefully going to go furniture shopping later today. For those who don’t know, we rearranged our apartment so that our futon (which was in the living room) is now in our office. So that means that we don’t have anything to sit on in our living room. So we are in need of a couch at least and maybe one other piece of furniture (recliner or overstuffed chair perhaps?). The problem with furniture shopping is that there are too many choices and the choices are all over the board on price, comfort, size, style, color, and everything else. All those choices can be overwhelming and make it difficult to find the right piece of furniture. Hopefully we will be able to find something soon though, since sitting on the floor just doesn’t work too great:) (Even Pounce is wishing we had some more furniture!)

Ballet was fun tonight, tiring but enjoyable. My teacher on Wednesdays is not quite so great as my teachers (yes there are two of them) on Saturdays. I guess she has a knee injury or something, but anyways I just ask the people who are good at ballet to show me what the teacher is trying to have us do. It just works better that way.
Yes, someday I want to take a ballet class on pointe. That day is a long ways from today though:)
Of course to Sari & Bethany, we should definitely talk! It has been so long…

So I decided to finally join the rest of the world (or at least most the people I know) and start my own blog. I will probably just post my random thoughts, what is going on in life, and how much warmer the weather is here than there:) So leave me comments to say hi when you stop by to read what I have to say. Hopefully once I get the hang of this I will post fairly frequently, although I know that every first time blogger says that! So enjoy and let me know what you think.
